Established in 1974, Laurelhill Community College is a post primary controlled school and continues to serve the whole community. 'Learning and Achieving Together'

Laurelhill has been serving and providing quality education in this community for over 40 years.  We provide quality learning and teaching opportunities which enable our pupils to reach their full potential.  

We welcome pupils of all abilities and from all backgrounds from the ages of 11 to 18. Learning is built upon good pastoral support structure which provides a framework for each pupil to experience a tailored learning experience in which they can achieve their very best.

Laurelhill caters for pupils of all abilities and follows the Northern Ireland Curriculum in Key Stage 3. In Key Stage 4 the College offers a broad and balanced range of GCSE and Level 2 equivalent courses. Our Key Stage 5 curriculum enables our pupils to follow academic and/or vocational courses. We want students to be curious, to seek answers, to explore, to expand their horizons and to question the status quo.

Facilities

The learning and teaching facilities in Laurelhill Community College are of an excellent standard.

Include: an assembly hall with stage, medical room, a counselling room, dedicated spaces for Special Educational Needs, Computer suites, Science Laboratories and thirty five teaching rooms. We also have the Laurelhill Sports Zone available for school use. 

Curriculum

The curriculum in Laurelhill Community College is designed at every Key Stage to engage, inspire, challenge and support all of our pupils and their individual needs

The Key Stage 3 curriculum is broad in order to ensure that pupils are able to sample all areas of the curriculum before making informed decisions on the subjects they will study at Key Stage 4 and 5.
