GCSE Mathematics

The specification has two tiers: Foundation and Higher. Each tier offers students a choice of units suited to a range of abilities, allowing them to demonstrate achievement. The assessment model enables students to monitor their progress and offers opportunities to improve their results.   

Year 11  

Pupils will complete a module M1, M2, M3 or M4 based on their ability.  

This will be completed in May/June of Year 11 and worth 45% of the overall GCSE Qualification. 

Year 12 

Pupils will complete a module M5, M6, M7 or M8 based on their ability.  

This will be completed in Year 12 and worth 55% of the overall GCSE Qualification. 

All GCSE Entries are carefully monitored and adjusted to ensure pupils reach the best post overall grade by the end of Year 12.
