Key Stage 4
CURRICULUM
At Laurelhill Community College we provide a Key Stage 4 curriculum which is designed with the individual strengths, interests and aspirations of our pupils at its core. Our ultimate aim is that all pupils will achieve at least 5 GCSEs or GCSE equivalents at grade C or higher so that they are fully equipped for the worlds of further education, higher education or employment.
The Key Stage 4 curriculum offer is tailored each year to compliment the needs and goals of the pupils in the relevant year groups. We offer pupils a broad range of GCSE and GCSE equivalent Level 2 courses. All pupils study a GCSE in English Language and Mathematics as well a GCSE or equivalent in Science. Furthermore, all pupils follow a non-exam course in Learning for Life and Work, Physical Education and Religious Education.
Other courses are arranged into option blocks, where pupils select four options subjects of their choice. These option blocks are designed to provide students with a range of subject choices that cater for their individual needs, abilities and interests.
