ACADEMIC INFORMATION

The Religious Education Department encourages pupils to develop an understanding of religions and how they impact individuals and society. There are opportunities for pupils to explore moral issues and can make their own judgements. Pupils are challenged and stretched to develop their own understanding and awareness of religious, moral, and ethical issues today.

AIMS

  • To help students develop an awareness, knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Christian teachings
  • To help students develop a knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the growth of Christianity, of its worship, prayer and religious language
  • To help students develop the ability to think and make judgements about morality, to relate Christian moral principles to personal and social life, and to identify values and attitudes that influence behaviour
