ACADEMIC INFORMATION

The Technology and Design Department aims to develop the problem-solving, practical and design skills of the students in Laurelhill Community College, whilst providing them with a safe and stimulating environment in which they can work both independently and as part of a team.

The Technology and Design Department consists of four workshops and two systems rooms, all of which are furnished with the equipment required to successfully deliver a varied curriculum from year 8 up to year 14.

AIMS

  • To take teaching and learning beyond the acquisition of knowledge by motivating and inspiring each student to extend their reach and realise their potential
  • We aim to develop each student on a social, moral and ethical level with the intention of enabling them to become positive, confident and independent members of society
  • Every student should experience success and develop aspirations to take the subject to the next level
