Open Evening

2024

Welcome to our Open Evening 2024. We are delighted to welcome you to our College to see what Laurelhill has to offer to prospective students. This year our college prospectus and key documents are available digitally by clicking on the links below where you will find our admission criteria for 2024-25 (available from Jan 2024), college prospectus, information leaflet and latest edition of the ‘Link Magazine’. Our website contains much more information about life at Laurelhill, so please take time to browse and discover more about what is on offer at our school. Students and staff will be available on the evening of Thursday 1st February 2024 to answer your questions and help you navigate the building. The Principal’s address will take place in the Assembly Hall at 6.45pm and 7.45pm, located beside the main entrance of the building.

In this section of our website you will also find online content from our previous virtual open events including a virtual tour of our school, interviews with our past Year 8 students and members of our Transition Pastoral Team. If you have any further questions about applying to Laurelhill, please do not hesitate to contact our College office.

Virtual Open Day

2022

We were unable to hold our standard Open Day experience over the last few years, but were delighted to share our virtual open day with you. This short video shows you all that Laurelhill Community College has to offer. As well as getting a taste of the subjects you could be studying, you will also hear from some of our pupils, parents and staff who are here to share their experience of life at Laurelhill.

P7 Transfer: FAQs

2022

Senior Teacher Mrs Beckett and Head of Year 8 Mrs Rea are on hand virtually to answer some frequently asked questions regarding the Transition Process. It is also an opportunity to meet the first of several key staff members who help new P7 students transition into Laurelhill. This is an exciting key milestone for all P7 students and we want to ensure that your child’s transition from primary school to Laurelhill is smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Year 8 Interviews

Life at Laurelhill

Still unsure about the next step – we have interviewed a selection of our previous Year 8 students who are excited to share their experience of moving to ‘big school’. Our Year 8 Interviews look closely at what our students are enjoying most at Laurelhill and they offer some great advice to P7 pupils about the transition process.
